9.3 – posílat / poslat ‘to send’

We send various things:
dopis – letter
balík – package
e-mail – e-mail
esemeska – sms, text message
textovka (less frequent) – text message
zpráva – message
In this lesson we’ll learn a new verb posílat / poslat – 'to send'. Remember, now that we have learned verbal aspect, we need to learn both an imperfective and perfective verb:
Imperfective posílat ‘to send’

Use imperfective posílat to talk about:
- what you are currently sending
- what you regularly send / will regularly send
- additionally, you can use posílat to talk about sending something to someone when you are unsure if it was received (and hence whether it was completed)

Perfective poslat
Perfective poslat has an irregular conjugation:

Use perfective poslat to talk about:
- a completed act of sending something in the past
- an intention or plan to send something a single time in the future
