5.8 – bát se – ‘to be afraid’
Most -í- verbs end in -it, -et, or -ět, such as bojit ‘to speak’

The verb bát se – ‘to be afraid of’ is going to be followed by the genitive case. Remember we practice the genitive endings in unit 3 when talking about amounts of something. We can think of the genitive as the of case. Here is a review of the endings:
